Music Pups
Ages: 0-3%20(Small).JPG)
The first months and years of life are
the most important in a child's musical development. The Music Pups
experience helps students develop their pitch and rhythm skills and become
more responsive to music in general. While we take
our goal of educating children very seriously, we know that the key to
success lies in one word -- fun! Everyone has a great time in Music Pups.
Children as well as their parents love our activities and listening to our
CDs at home. Research shows that early childhood is the window of
opportunity to increase the lifelong music aptitude of a child. Music Pups,
developed by The Music Class Inc., gives parents the tools to capitalize on
this critical time period.
Sunrise
Ages: 2.5-4
Sunrise is a pre-keyboard program
aimed at familiarizing preschoolers with the environment of the music class,
while at the same time setting up the basics of learning music through
songs, games, and dance. Children learn to keep a steady beat, imitate
simple rhythm patterns, sing in tune, recognize basic patterns, and
understand some basic music vocabulary. A teddy-bear theme helps the
children learn about different types of rhythms. This class, like all
Music for Young Children® classes, requires parent participation.
Sunshine One
Ages: 3-4.JPG)
Sunshine One is a keyboard-based program developed for pre-school aged
children. The class involves a variety of activities designed to suit the
fine motor skills of 3 and 4 year olds and capture their attention. This
level is rich in singing, hands on activities, games and stories about
‘critters’ used to help the children learn their notes as the students are
introduced to keyboard geography.
Parental involvement is a vital part of the learning dynamic which allows
students to experience maximum success of students and sees the parents
actively involved both in class and at home.
During the year, we cover the keyboard geography from A-G and introduce
notes on the treble clef C, D & E as well as bass clef middle C and B.
Students also identify patterns, incorporate solfege (hand signs), reinforce
songs through singing and rhythm dictations and ensembles.
Sunbeams One
Ages: K &
Grade 1
Sunbeams One is an enthusiastic level for both parents and students. Our
class is interactive, enthusiastic and exciting as we incorporate games,
singing, solfege, rhythm ensembles, compositions, patterns and a variety of
means to teach the well-rounded program to these beginners.
The program teaches the keyboard geography through ‘critters’ and by the end
of the course we have covered the scales of C and G Major Scales and a minor
(harmonized with bridges). The majority of notes are covered on both the
treble and bass clefs by the end of the year.
A rewarding and challenging program for all involved!
Moonbeams One
Ages: Grades
2, 3 & 4
Students in Moonbeams One are ready for full sounding songs. The curriculum
is laid out in such a way as to incorporate harmonizing scales with chords
right from the beginning. These students learn quickly through means such as
patterns, the circle of 5ths, singing, solfege, rhythm dictations, ensembles
and composing. |
